Function |with_secret_variables

process/environment::|with_secret_variables

Usage

|with_secret_variables(environment, secret_variables)

Parameters

↳ environment: Environment (process/environment::Environment)
↳ secret_variables: Map (std/data/map::Map)

Return

↴ Environment

Add secret variables to environment.

Each entry of secret_variables gives the Secret<string> value of a variable, revealed only when a command is run, and never put in command arguments. Entries can also be Option<Secret<string>>, as given by std/secret::|locate. Running a command fails if an entry holds no Secret<string>. Variables given here replace those of the same name.

Kubernetes pods (work package) only take command arguments and standard input, so there commands receiving secret variables run through /bin/sh, reading them from standard input: the container image needs /bin/sh.
